What Is Why Not A Pear?
At the heart of Why Not A Pear is a simple mission: help children grow into confident, healthy and happy people. Through funding, services and programs, the foundation supports children and the organizations, schools, teachers and families that help them thrive. Inspired by the shared passion of Richard Perry and his daughter, Cheryl, Why Not A Pear focuses on making a meaningful impact where support is needed most.
Richard was known for his generosity and dedication to serving others. He was a lifelong supporter of programs that gave children creative, athletic and educational opportunities while helping them build confidence and feel supported. That spirit lives on through Why Not A Pear, inspiring the foundation to continue giving back and making a difference in the lives of children and families.

The Educational Tools and Equipment request has helped provide resources ranging from MacBooks for programs at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Rhode Island to a custom bike for a child with autism who was unable to ride a traditional bike.
The Scholarship/Program Funding request can help support programs, camps and other opportunities for children and families.
Both forms are available on the Why Not A Pear website. For additional information, contact info@whynotapear.com.

The team at Why Not A Pear is happy to have been able to raise money to help families and children who might need it in 2027 and is already gearing up for another fun and successful event next year!
Once again, Why Not A Pear would like to say thank you to all the supporters of this event and all of its events and programs. Their support helps make everything Why Not A Pear does possible!
